RED OAK

Alamo Hardwoods | WOODS | Exotic Hardwoods | Red Oak

Red Oak (Quercus Rubra) is one of the most common and useful woods in North America. It is a standard for flooring and cabinetry due to its hardness and ease of staining and finishing. Red Oak is usually distinguishable from White Oak by its open pore structure. This makes Red Oak grain very prominent when stain is applied. A pore filler, applied before staining, can minimize this effect.
